We are pleased to now offer the Avalon™ Flow Battery. This battery employs proprietary vanadium-based chemistry and is the first fully turn-key, fully-integrated flow battery on the market. These batteries come 100% functionally tested, require no ancillary systems, secondary containment, electrolyte filling or secondary electrical connections on site. This configuration yields minimal installation time of less than two hours per unit, and allows site costs to be kept to a complete minimum. Vanadium is a widely-available non-toxic metal. It is produced on a global scale through the recycling of power generation and steel manufacturing waste, and from mining operations.

Vandium flow batteries are rechargable and use vanadium ions in different oxidation states to store chemical potential energy. They employ the ability of vanadium to exist in solution in four different oxidation states, allowing them to use only one electroactive element.
